Improving Email Deliverability (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)

To make sure your emails land in inboxes (not spam folders), you’ll want to set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. These DNS settings prove to other mail servers that you’re a trusted sender.

What These Records Do

  • SPF: Lists which servers are allowed to send mail from your domain
  • DKIM: Digitally signs your outgoing messages to verify they weren’t altered
  • DMARC: Tells receiving servers what to do if SPF or DKIM checks fail

How to Set Them Up

These records are added in your domain’s DNS settings. If you’re using Envosta nameservers:

  1. Log in at envosta.com/login
  2. Go to Domains and select your domain
  3. Click Manage DNS
  4. Add the following records as TXT entries:

Example SPF Record

Type: TXT
Name: @
Value: v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all

Example DKIM Record

This is generated by your email provider (e.g., Google Workspace or your Envosta mail server) and will look something like:

Type: TXT
Name: google._domainkey
Value: [long DKIM key provided]

Example DMARC Record

Type: TXT
Name: _dmarc
Value: v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; rua=mailto:dmarc@yourdomain.com
